Week 3 2019: Everybody is a winner (almost)

You're all winners, kinda In an odd turn of events after week 3, we have not 5 or even 6, but 7(!) teams with winning records. If the playoffs were to start today, someone (Take Mahomes..) would miss them despite being above .500 How does that happen? Simple: you just need the other teams to lose a lot . Wampus Cats and Sudowoodo Gang, both sitting at 0-3, have worked together to make such a feat possible. You're welcome guys. Can this continue? Definitely not. Too many of our 2-1 teams play each other this week. But its kinda interesting to look at huh? Power Rankings I feel like there are clear D and A tier teams but the rest is kind of a mess.  A Tier BurntOrangeMan: I had this team at the top last week and here they remain. This team has a good set of very consistent RBs and 2 WRs with the ability to put up league leading scores to take over games. LilMoonee: Talk about jumping up the rankings. LilMoonee put up a league high 169 points this week o...

Week 2 2019: The death of the quarterback

Sorry Browns. This week unfortunately saw 2 hall of fame level QBs leave the game with significant injuries. Ben Roethlisberger (whose name I still have to spellcheck every time I type it after all these years) and Drew Brees (who I'm reminded 5-10 times each Saturday went to the same highschool as Sam Ehlinger) are both out for a long time. For Big Ben it means the end of the season, maybe the end of his career. It looks like Brees will return this year but there are big questions for a lot of our 1st and 2nd round picks. Where will Kamara, Michael Thomas, Ju-Ju, and James Conner end up with their new QBs?  Considering how late I'm writing this, I guess we're about to find out. Power Rankings Do we know more than we did after week 1? Yes, definitely. I'm more confident than before that my team is bad. Do we know enough to establish a clear S tier team? Probably not yet. A Tier BurntOrangeMan: As long as Henry and Fournette keep outperforming...

Week 1 2019 : Football is back and losing still sucks

Kickoff! The week after the first weekend of football is a crazy one. Maybe you spent the last couple of months waiting for football to come back. Reading articles about 2019's breakout players, listening to podcasts, doing mock drafts, and convincing your friends and family to come back for another year of Fantasy. You entered the draft confident of the players you wanted and left it knowing you had an amazing squad ready to take the league by storm. ...Or maybe I'm the only one who did all that to still end up with the lowest score of the week by a wide margin. The important thing to remember is that we're only through one week. Will the Falcons offense continue to struggle? Maybe. Are the Dolphins an absolute dumpster fire? Possibly. But 1 week of data isn't enough to go on. If you had duds like I did, you have to believe they'll perform better as the year goes on. Right? Power Rankings I don't feel confident enough in what we know t...

Kickoff 2019

Football Season is Upon us.. Man, that feels really nice to type. We're just weeks away from finding out Are the browns actually good now? Will the entire Cowboys offense hold out for better contracts? Can Antonio Brown recover from his frostbitten feet (seriously?) Who's going to dominate our draft only to watch their team fall apart in the final weeks of the season? There are two important parts to this post, and both of them require your participation; draft dates and rule changes. If nothing else, please send me your draft dates ASAP Draft Dates In order to avoid drafting players who get injured in the preseason, I've set the earliest date for this poll after Preseason Week 2. Check all the dates you're available, or at least X out the days you definitely can't make it. VOTE HERE Potential Rule Changes Alright, now for the rules. First, I want to note that we don't have to change anything from last year, but I always like ...

Week 16: A Champion is Crowned

we are the champions.. Welcome to your very delayed end of season commissioner commentary! After a really slow week 15, championship week did not disappoint. Eagle Powers got a huge surprise game from recently cut CJ Anderson and another big game from Tight End Jaylen Samuels... and still lost by 16 to NB Power's superteam. The key to victory for this squad was loading up on pass catchers in the draft and slowly acquiring startable RBs. NB Power got 10+ from all his WRs, 40 points from his two RBs, and 30 POINTS FROM ZACK ERTZ. Talk about showing up when you need him most. Contrats to all of our playoff teams, and to NB Power for winning his first championship. Your name is now officially on the site banner, and there will be a trophy soon. Before you go: I made a NFL playoff "bracket" in Google Docs for us to compete with each other. Feel free to fill it out to see how you do and I'll post the winner here. The spreadsheet will be locked for editing Sat...

Week 15: The disgusting, horrible, no good, very bad playoff week

Gross. Ooooh man, what a week for Fantasy Football Semis. The chart above (not my work) sums up all the scoring players in each position, which shows you that this is the lowest scoring week 15 this decade. Some notable high scoring players that possibly killed your team this week: QB: Drew Brees, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Jameis Winston, Jared Geoff RB: Philip Lindsay, Aaron Jones, Lamar Miller WR: Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper, Tyreek Hill, Jarvis Landry, Adam Theilin TE: Gronk, Ertz, Ebron And that's not even counting superstars that sat this week including Odell, Conner, and Melvin Gordon As it turned out, two of our semifinalist teams were relatively unaffected by the collapse, while their opponents were absolutely devastated by it. This resulted in the most lopsided semifinals I've seen yet, with an average margin of victory of 62.5 points. Ouch. Matchup Preview There's only one matchup worth previewing now, our championship! NB Power...
