Draft Time and Rule Changes Votes 2019

The polls are officially closed! Here are the details you need to know:

Top line important details:

Draft Date/Time

Draft date is set for Monday, August 26th at 8:00 PM. This was the only date that everyone who responded to the poll was available for. Hopefully everyone is free that evening, and if not, try to let me know in the poll next time.

I adjusted the time a little to help people (like me and Colton) who have young kids to get to bed in the evening.

Draft Order

  1. Barbara
  2. Reese
  3. Steven
  4. ???
  5. Brian
  6. Greg
  7. Colton
  8. Michael P
  9. Zane
  10. Michael T
And here's our randomized draft order. Nick has decided not to join us this year so I'm working on a replacement, which explains the ??? in the 4th position.

Rule Changes

Votes for rule changes are in and very little has changed. Is this a bad thing? No, I really don't think so. What we've learned is that either A) I'm bad at suggesting new ideas or B) people are pretty happy with the way things are. I'm going to choose to believe it's B.

Because we had lower vote totals I exercised some judgement on what to do with these.

1. Cash Buy In/Payout : 4 votes for | 1 vote against. FAILED

While a majority of voters would like to play for a small amount of money, it's also a minority of players in the league. To me, it doesn't feel right to make everyone pay up under those circumstances.

2. Move to Sleeper.app: 4 votes for. PASSED

No one who voted was against this change, and it doesn't require me to ask for money, so it passes. Follow this link to join our new league: https://sleeper.app/i/L4lo7YamV3dw

3. Replacing Kickers with 2nd Flex Position: 1 vote for | 2 votes against. FAILED

This topic didn't inspire a lot of voting. 2 of our 5 voters abstained, only 1 person we in favor.

4. Adding Keepers. 1 vote for | 4 votes against. FAILED

This is the rule change people were most vocal about, and people mostly did not like it.

Kickoff 2019

Football Season is Upon us.. Man, that feels really nice to type. We're just weeks away from finding out Are the browns actually good now? Will the entire Cowboys offense hold out for better contracts? Can Antonio Brown recover from his frostbitten feet (seriously?) Who's going to dominate our draft only to watch their team fall apart in the final weeks of the season? There are two important parts to this post, and both of them require your participation; draft dates and rule changes. If nothing else, please send me your draft dates ASAP Draft Dates In order to avoid drafting players who get injured in the preseason, I've set the earliest date for this poll after Preseason Week 2. Check all the dates you're available, or at least X out the days you definitely can't make it. VOTE HERE Potential Rule Changes Alright, now for the rules. First, I want to note that we don't have to change anything from last year, but I always like ...

Week 13: Playoffs, Survivor Champion

A rare image of that one time the Jags were actually good Playoffs are here! The final week of the regular season included a bit of Chaos as Goofy Gang was able to claw his way into 6th place, while NB Power pushed into a 1st round bye. This next week, there are only 2 matchups because all of our losers bracket teams are on bye, as well as our league leaders. Survivor The winner of our very first survivor challenge has been crowned! Congrats Eagle Powers. The key to this game was consistency, and Eagle Powers has been consistently crushing it ever since this challenge started in week 5. With an average score of 139 and low of 113 during that period, this team has cruised to 4 eliminations (double that of the next best team) on the backs of Gurley, Luck, and Davante Adams, as well as insane waiver pickups in Conner, Chubb and Kerryon. How they're only 7-6 in the actual standings is the greater mystery. Survivor Standings : Eagle Powers: 132 Points this week ⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️ ...

Commish Commentary Week 6: Last Shall Beat First

Normally I would fill this first paragraph with some general observation about things that happened in the NFL this week, but for the first time all season I basically didn't watch any games at all, and I have no idea who even won them. The NFL is funny in that when I look over our scores I can't help but wonder how some of these things could even happen. How was Michael Thomas held to 1 point in a game where NO scored 52? How did Ellington end up with 0 touches on a team that hasn't run the ball all season? How did Davante Adams score 11 points when Rodgers passed for only 18 yards? Ok, I might have a decent guess on the Green Bay one. Recaps Travis's Team(94.32) > Rodgers That 🏈💪(68.62) What a weird week for Travis's team. Despite playing four dudes who combined for 4.4 points (!!) he cruised to a near 30 point victory on the backs of Houston's DEF, Hyde, and Mike Evans. This was a down week for many of Rodgers That's players, but it ...
