Week 3: Q1 Stats and Surprises

Well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, would you look at that? The cannon has been fired in DKR Memorial Stadium, signaling that we're 1/4 of our way through the season. It's a nice time to look back at our draft, our teams, and league records, and see where things are headed. I want to get this out of the way at the top: if you're 0-3 after this week, don't give up hope . You only need to climb to 6th place (currently a 1-2 record) over the next 10 weeks to make playoffs, and anything can happen from there. The next segment of this blog post contains stats, and they are numbers Interesting Stats Through Week 3 Drew Brees has now thrown 40 footballs at Michael Thomas. He has turned that into 398 yards and 3 TDs, which is pretty good. The crazy part? He has caught 38 of those passes for an insane 95% catch rate After joining fellow Alabama alum Julio Jones in Atlanta, Calvin Ridley has more TDs in 2 games (4) than Julio caught for the entire...

Week 2 2018: QB Insanity

QB Insanity Alright, raise your hand if you saw this one coming: the top 4 QBs in our league do not include Brady, Wilson, Rodgers, or Cam. Instead it features the following superstars Mahomes Fitzmagic Rivers Cousins This leads me to two very important questions. Who's going to be starting Fitzpatrick this week? and more curiously, is Zane a wizard? Drafting Mahomes is one thing, but taking him in the 6th when he was being taken as the 15th QB is another level of sorcery. Another fun stat: Matt Brieda is the leading rusher for the NFL through 2 weeks. Seriously. MATCHUPS JuJu Smith-Schuster Dakstreet Boys (110.74) > Represent 👩🏈🌻(105.90) In one of the closest matchups of the week, dominant games from JuJu and McCaffrey gave Dakstreet his first win and vaulted his team into 6th. He even withstood a 0 point game from injured kicking star Greg the Leg. For Represent, that Cardinal's overall awfulness is really having an impact on David Johnson...

Week 1 2018: Browns "Break" The Losing Streak

For the first time since 2016, the Cleveland Browns played a football game without losing. Did they benefit from six turnovers? Yes. Did they have their game winning FG blocked? Technically yes. But hey, it's progress. Right? In Fantasy Football world, this weekend generated some insane scoring thanks in no small part to the  New Orleans/Tampa Bay shootout. Baltimore, the Jets (???), Rams, and Chiefs also put up huge offensive numbers that boosted many of our teams to landslide victories. *a note on the gifs: I just google search the players so the odds that they're actually footage from this week is incredibly unlikely Recaps Michael Thomas Cool Beans (142.64) > Eagle Powers (95.16) I don't know if I have ever seen a single game so completely dominate a matchup as the Saints loss to the Bucs this week. Kamara and Thomas combined for 75 points, while their nonexistent defense put up -4 points for Eagle Powers, dropping him into an almost 80 point hole he...

Kickoff 2018

It is Kickoff Day My Dudes Starting next Wednesday you'll be getting commissioner commentary on the weeks victories, defeats, and pickups. Before the season starts tonight though, I thought I would do something different and look back at our draft. Who's got the best RB core, who drafted the best WRs, who has the best team name? This should be a fun one to come back to in week 13 just to see how wrong I was. Lets get started Draft Grades Greg's Grand Team Coming off a championship game defeat, GGT went heavy on WRs this draft, picking up quality players at QB and TE as well. If Mixon can turn things around this season or Michel breaks out this is a very scary team. Team Name: D. It's an auto generated team name from an older era where yahoo was into alliteration. You can a slight bump for hanging on to it so long. QB: B WRs: A RBs: C TE: B zane's Team zane's Team placed 3rd last year despite missing Zeke for a significant ch...
