Week 7 2019 : The Return of Aaron

R-E-L-A-X
I've written multiple times this year that Rodgers just isn't the same player he was before, and it's time to start looking at him as a borderline QB1 for Fantasy.

It, uh, appears that was a bit premature. Rodgers put up 33% of his season total in one week with 6 total TDs against the Raiders, all without Devante Adams. Maybe he's still got it.

Survivor Standings

Lots of low scores this week means 3 teams get to squeak by with sub 90 point games and live to die another day. No team thus far has more than one elimination.
  • GrandPooba : 129.06 ⚔️
  • Wampus Cats : 124.16 ⚔️
  • BriasaurusRex : 116.12
  • Lucky Charms : 106.14⚔️
  • zcub : 88.62
  • Sudowoodogang : 86.66
  • BurntOrangeMan : 85.06
  • lilmoonee : 76.74💀
  • cfisher1991 : RIP💀
  • Country Roads, Take Mahomes : RIP💀
Lilmoonee got 12 points total from Mixon and Ingram, and a disgusting 4 point performance from Wentz to be the 3rd dead this year. GrandPooba gets his first elimination thanks in large part to Rodgers 46 point explosion vs the Raiders

Power Rankings

It's been a good while since our last power rankings, so let's check back in. There's been some notable movement especially for Wampus Cats and Lucky Charms. As usual, order within tiers is arbitrary.
  • S Tier
    • Lucky Charms: Even without Devante Adams, this team is crushing the league right now. Austin Hooper has been a huge value at TE, and Devonta Freeman and Conner starting to play up to their draft potential is also invaluable. The real difference maker for this team though is the NE defense, which is currently the #7 overall fantasy "player". Yes, that's actually real. There are only 4 QBs and 2 RBs ahead of NE DST in scoring.
  • A Tier
    • BurntOrangeMan: This team has the most consistently strong RB group in the league with Henry, Fournette, and Bell, and is also getting a huge boost from Amari Cooper when he's healhty. The squad continues to have issues finding a good TE, but is mostly covering for that with consistent play everywhere else.
    • LilMoonee: The resurgence of Stefon Diggs is a godsend for a team that's had a hard to time filling the WR roles with good options. McCaffrey continues to dominate every single week, leaving lilmoonee to wonder just how good this team could be if Mixon was doing anything at all.
    • zcub : No Drew Brees? No problem for Michael Thomas. He has continued to crush it with backup Bridgewater and now sits as the #1WR in fantasy. This team has also gotten consistently great performances from both Seattle players (Lockette, Carson) as Russel Wilson attempts to put up an MVP season.
  • B Tier
    • Wampus Cats: DJ Chark, Golladay, and Allen Robinson are all playing significantly over their draft position this last month, which has bought this team a 3 game winstreak. With Kamara looking healthier and (hopefully) getting Brees back soon this team suddenly has a lot to look forward to.
    • Funky Monkeys : Welcome to the party Courland Sutton! He's been a very reliable asset for the Broncos so far, and should see an even bigger role with Sanders shipping out. This team also has one of the best breakout TEs of the season in Waller to go with a great 1/2 punch at RB. The biggest problem for this team all season has been WRs and that seems to have been solved for now.
  • C Tier :
    • Country Roads, Take Mahomes : Saquon is finally back, but will it be enough for a team that just lost Pat Mahomes? This team also has question marks at receiver while it awaits AJ Green to someday play football again. 7 weeks into the season it's got to be a bit painful to have held him for this long, but hopefully it all pays off.
    • BriasaurusRex: Is Hopkins living up to expectations? No. Is Damien Williams even a starter? Not really. But Dalvin Cook and Watson are doing enough to help this team overlook those flaws. Marvin Jones has also pitched in some huge games in between his absolute duds. This team really needs at least 1 more startable RB.
  • D Tier
    • SudowoodoGang : David Johnson is hurt? or isn't he? The Cardinals aren't sure and neither is Sudowoodo. What we do know is that despite returning from his holdout, Melvin Gordon is doing basically nothing for Fantasy owners. Add to that the fact that Tyreek lost Mahomes a week after his return from injury and you have a recipe for disappointment.
    • cfisher1991: Losing Kerryon for (possibly) the rest of the season is a huge hit to a team that's already shaky at RB with Todd Gurley missing some time. Julio Jones has also dissapointed of late, looking like a very pedestrian WR3 weeks 4-7. Josh Jacobs is the silver lining on this team and could fill in nicely for Kerryon.

Pickup of the Week

Hunter Henry, Lucky Charms. Henry has 39 points in his first 2 weeks back from injury, and George4ManGrill seems to have found yet another TE steal.

    Kickoff 2019

Football Season is Upon us.. Man, that feels really nice to type. We're just weeks away from finding out Are the browns actually good now? Will the entire Cowboys offense hold out for better contracts? Can Antonio Brown recover from his frostbitten feet (seriously?) Who's going to dominate our draft only to watch their team fall apart in the final weeks of the season? There are two important parts to this post, and both of them require your participation; draft dates and rule changes. If nothing else, please send me your draft dates ASAP Draft Dates In order to avoid drafting players who get injured in the preseason, I've set the earliest date for this poll after Preseason Week 2. Check all the dates you're available, or at least X out the days you definitely can't make it. VOTE HERE Potential Rule Changes Alright, now for the rules. First, I want to note that we don't have to change anything from last year, but I always like ...

    Week 13: Playoffs, Survivor Champion

A rare image of that one time the Jags were actually good Playoffs are here! The final week of the regular season included a bit of Chaos as Goofy Gang was able to claw his way into 6th place, while NB Power pushed into a 1st round bye. This next week, there are only 2 matchups because all of our losers bracket teams are on bye, as well as our league leaders. Survivor The winner of our very first survivor challenge has been crowned! Congrats Eagle Powers. The key to this game was consistency, and Eagle Powers has been consistently crushing it ever since this challenge started in week 5. With an average score of 139 and low of 113 during that period, this team has cruised to 4 eliminations (double that of the next best team) on the backs of Gurley, Luck, and Davante Adams, as well as insane waiver pickups in Conner, Chubb and Kerryon. How they're only 7-6 in the actual standings is the greater mystery. Survivor Standings : Eagle Powers: 132 Points this week ⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️ ...

Commish Commentary Week 6: Last Shall Beat First

Normally I would fill this first paragraph with some general observation about things that happened in the NFL this week, but for the first time all season I basically didn't watch any games at all, and I have no idea who even won them. The NFL is funny in that when I look over our scores I can't help but wonder how some of these things could even happen. How was Michael Thomas held to 1 point in a game where NO scored 52? How did Ellington end up with 0 touches on a team that hasn't run the ball all season? How did Davante Adams score 11 points when Rodgers passed for only 18 yards? Ok, I might have a decent guess on the Green Bay one. Recaps Travis's Team(94.32) > Rodgers That 🏈💪(68.62) What a weird week for Travis's team. Despite playing four dudes who combined for 4.4 points (!!) he cruised to a near 30 point victory on the backs of Houston's DEF, Hyde, and Mike Evans. This was a down week for many of Rodgers That's players, but it ...
