Week 8 2018: Undefeated No More

8 weeks in, I think it's a fun time to look at players who have shocked the fantasy world with their value this season. If you drafted one or more of these guys, pat yourself on the back

• QB: Patrick Mahomes. To say this guy is over-performing is an understatement. He has only one week below 20 points, and he leads the next closest QB by 46. Oh yeah, and he wasn't even being drafted in the top 10 at his position. Honorable mentions : Jared Goff, Mitchell Trubiski
• WR: Adam Thielen. He is now one of only 2 receivers to top 100 yards in 8 straight games in NFL history, and will look to break that record next week. He's the top of his position by 20 points despite being drafted around WR13. Honerable mentions: Emmanuel Sanders, Tyler Boyd
• RB: James Conner. Picked up as a potential 1-2 week fill in for Lev Bell, Conner has turned into the #3 RB in fantasy. Not only has Lev Bell still not reported to the team, but there's no guarantee he wins the job back when he returns. Conner is 3rd in rushing yards, and 7th in receiving among RBs, replicating basically all of Bell's production last year. Honorable mentions: Adrian Peterson, Philip Lindsay
• TE: George Kittle. Drafted as a 13th round flyer, Kittle has survived losing his starting QB and thrived in the new 49ers offense. He's putting up consistent scores every week and currently ranks 3rd among TEs. Honorable mentions: Jared Cook, OJ Howard

zane's Team scored a ridiculous 178 to earn his first elimination of the season, killing off the Wampus Cats, who went from undefeated to elimination in a single week. Surviving isn't easy. Despite being at the bottom of our league rankings, Greg's Grand Team and Represent continue to hang around in these standings. As long as your team doesn't totally fall apart you always have a shot to win this less official contest.

I finally saw this movie this weekend and I have a lot of questions. This dude is definitely powerful though

Power Rankings

• S Tier 
• Eagle Powers: With 5 straight weeks of 120+ scoring, Eagle powers perches atop the S tier alone. Adding Boyd has really taken this team to another level, and as long as Conner is the starting RB for the Steelers this team will be very hard to beat.
• A Tier
• Dakstreet Boys: This team is now all in on the Panthers offense (McCaffrey, Funchess, Olsen) and it's actually working very well. As long as Cam keeps torching defenses Dakstreet boys are in great shape.
• zane's Team: What happens when you take a team with amazing WRs and both of their bench level RBs suddenly look like starters? They rocket to the top of our power rankings. If Drake and Carson keep up their performance look for this team in the S rank next week.
• B Tier
• Wampus Cats: With T.Y. Hilton still not fully healthy and Tyreek Hill now injured, this team is hurting for good receivers. They need to hope that Marvin Jones takes over as the #1 receiver with Tate being traded to Philly.
• Greg's Grand Team: Adrian Peterson is now the oldest RB to break off a 60 yard run, and continues to impress, as does Lindsay in Freeman's absence in Denver. How well Amari Cooper fits in Dallas could have a big impact on this team.
• Return of the Mack: With Sony Michel hurt and Jordan Howard continuing to be outplayed by Cohen, this team now has a significant weakness at the RB position. Fitzpatrick getting back his job in Tampa should help Desean Jackson though. 
• Steven's Team: Marlon Mack is the real deal, and that's great news for this team. Now 8 weeks in, Steven has weathered almost all of Lev Bell's holdout (I think?), and still sits in playoff position. The breakout of Sanders has been a big part of that.
• C Tier
• Cool Beans: The Carlos Hyde trade has not been good for Cool Beans, who are now forced to play a 2nd string Seattle RB for their bye week. If new addition Tyrell Williams continues to light it up for the Chargers though this team will move back up the rankings quickly.
• Goofy Gang: This team desperately needs Kupp to get healthy again as Crabtree and Landry have both proven to be very inconsistent receivers. The good news here is that Aaron Jones looks to be finally taking over the Green Bay backfield.
• Represent 👩🏈🌻: There's not a lot new to say for represent. Theilen continues to shine while DJ and Alex Collins continue putting up annoyingly mediocre numbers. With Golden Tate leaving Detroit this team will be hoping Golladay takes over, and not Marvin Jones.

Pickup of the Week

In a relatively down week, Steven's Team wins this award for Jalen Richard, who looks to take over the pass catching RB duties in Oakland as Marshawn has been placed on IR.
