Week 7 2018: Half way to the Playoffs

Whooaaa we're half way there..

Survivor

Sorry guys, I'm writing this on Wednesday night so I don't have time to fill in this narrative. The Wampus Cat killed Khalil Mack leaving Dak alone and looking for new alliances.

Survivor Standings :

  • Wampus Cats: 167 Points this week ⚔️
  • zane's Team: 130 Points this week
  • Eagle Powers: 122 Points this week ⚔️⚔️
  • Goofy Gang : 122 Points this week
  • Dakstreet Boys: 120 Points this week
  • Represent 👩🏈🌻: 117 Points this week
  • Greg's Grand Team: 107 Points this week
  • Return of the Mack: 76 Points this week💀
  • Cool Beans: RIP💀
  • Steven's Team: RIP 💀
No one man should have all that power

Power Rankings

The teams are a bit more tightly grouped now so I've removed the D tier. Order within tiers doesn't mean anything.
  • S Tier
    • Wampus Cats: The undefeated season rolls on. T.Y. Hilton is healthy again, John Brown is on fire. This team just needs Melvin Gordon to be ok coming out of the BYE.
    • Eagle Powers: This team now has the best RBs in the league by a wide margin. Gurley/Conner/Kerryon/Chubb is crazy and Dalvin is still on his way back. Boyd finally had a down week, but is still a great add.
  • A Tier
    • Return of the Mack: Is Lamar Miller actually good again? If he is, this team has a shot to move back up into the top tier. Big Ben continues to churn out great games every week.
    • Dakstreet Boys: The big story for this team is that Latavius is killing it in Cook's absence, which helps alleviate Powell going on IR. Getting Greg Olsen back also helps a lot.
  • B Tier
    • Represent 👩🏈🌻: Powell's injury is Crowell's boon, and that't great news for this team. So is the Cardinals firing Mike McCoy freeing up David Johnson. A win this week would put this team back in the playoff picture.
    • Greg's Grand Team: Odell is finally starting to live up to his potential for this team, but questions around Fournette's health still linger. Alshon and Ridley round out a very strong receiving squad, and AP continues to put up near 100 yard games at the ripe old age of 33.
    • Steven's Team: I don't know what to say about this team anymore. I have ranked Steven in the bottom tier the whole season, but he just keeps winning. Sanders has been a huge boon for this team, and Baldwin is finally through his injury and his bye.
  • C Tier
    • Cool Beans: Carlos Hyde's trade to the Jags is a pretty big hit for a team playing a TE its FLEX. Cam and Kamara give this team hope, but they need to find some more role players on waivers if they can.
    • Goofy Gang: How long will Gronk and Kupp be out? That's the real question for this team. In the meantime, Tarik Cohen is turning into a great fantasy RB as Howard sees less and less work for the Bears.
    • zane's Team:  Kenyan drake is my runner up for pickup of the week, and this team desperately needs him to live up to his offseason hype. Here's hoping he turned the corner into fantasy relevance this week and fully replaces Frank Gore. Edleman's return has boosted this team just as much as it has opened up the offense for the Patriots.

Pickup of the Week

Nick Chubb, Eagle Powers. Cleveland believed in Chubb enough to send Hyde away, and that's good enough for me. 18 carries in his first week compared to just 5 total touches for Duke Johnson says he's likely to be the main starter going forward.

Kickoff 2019

Football Season is Upon us.. Man, that feels really nice to type. We're just weeks away from finding out Are the browns actually good now? Will the entire Cowboys offense hold out for better contracts? Can Antonio Brown recover from his frostbitten feet (seriously?) Who's going to dominate our draft only to watch their team fall apart in the final weeks of the season? There are two important parts to this post, and both of them require your participation; draft dates and rule changes. If nothing else, please send me your draft dates ASAP Draft Dates In order to avoid drafting players who get injured in the preseason, I've set the earliest date for this poll after Preseason Week 2. Check all the dates you're available, or at least X out the days you definitely can't make it. VOTE HERE Potential Rule Changes Alright, now for the rules. First, I want to note that we don't have to change anything from last year, but I always like ...

Week 13: Playoffs, Survivor Champion

A rare image of that one time the Jags were actually good Playoffs are here! The final week of the regular season included a bit of Chaos as Goofy Gang was able to claw his way into 6th place, while NB Power pushed into a 1st round bye. This next week, there are only 2 matchups because all of our losers bracket teams are on bye, as well as our league leaders. Survivor The winner of our very first survivor challenge has been crowned! Congrats Eagle Powers. The key to this game was consistency, and Eagle Powers has been consistently crushing it ever since this challenge started in week 5. With an average score of 139 and low of 113 during that period, this team has cruised to 4 eliminations (double that of the next best team) on the backs of Gurley, Luck, and Davante Adams, as well as insane waiver pickups in Conner, Chubb and Kerryon. How they're only 7-6 in the actual standings is the greater mystery. Survivor Standings : Eagle Powers: 132 Points this week ⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️ ...

Commish Commentary Week 9: Close Calls

Sometimes, Fantasy Football is about winning the draft, or getting that breakout player on waivers. Like drafting Hunt in the 7th or getting Wentz for free. Other times, it's about picking the right players to start and which ones to sit. Like when Amari Cooper puts up 40 points on your bench as you lose by 5. Sometimes though, it's just dumb luck. There were two teams this week that were ~1 point away from winning their matchup and moving into playoff position only to lose at the last possible second. 1 dropped pass that gets caught, one field-goal that goes in instead of bouncing off the upright. So close, but not quite close enough. Recaps! Travis Kelce Chunky Salsa (85) > 🤓🖒🏈 (83.24) In the first of our nail-biters, 🤓🖒🏈 took a lead Sunday with good games from Ajayi and McCaffrey, only for Chunky Salsa to be saved on Monday night by a Kelce touchdown. Salsa also got a pretty good game out of Tyrod and Hopkins, which helped gloss over an abysmal 8 carr...
