It's a good week to be a dad, I guess. Both Brittany and I lost to our father-in-laws, giving them control of 1st and 2nd place, while Colton picked up another surprising win to move into playoff position for the first time this season. And just like that, we're halfway through the regular season; lets take a look at our playoff picture currently.
- B Y E W E E K B O Y Z (Greg, Zane): First and second place in the regular season earn a bye week for the first round of the playoffs, and currently Zane and Greg hold these positions. The interesting thing here is that total points decide tiebreakers, and teams 3 and 4 both have higher totals than 1 and 2, allowing them to jump these teams without necessarily having better records. For now though, these guys are the top of the mountain.
- Contenders (Perezoso, Chunky Salsa, Travis) : Sporting records of 4-3, these teams have all put a 2 game gap between themselves and the final playoff spot, making them somewhat safe for the time being. It would take a painful losing streak for any of them to drop out of the picture.
- The Cliffhanger (Colton): The top heavy nature of our league (cough Greg cough) means that the last playoff spot has a decent chance to go to a team with a losing record. Right now, that team is Colton's, coming hot off 3 wins in 4 weeks and holding a 25 point lead over his wife. A single loss can change this spot.
- Emoji Chaos (🤓🖒🏈 , 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️, , ) : The bottom section has 4 teams separated by only 1 win, and happens to feature solely teams with Emojis for names (possible correlation? 🤔🤔🤔 ??). All of these teams currently have a shot at the Cliffhanger position as they are at most 1 win behind Colton, so there's a lot to watch for here.
With that in mind, lets move onto the recaps
*minor note: I found some sweet gifs for your star players this week, but they aren't necessarily from this week's games.

¡RECAPS!
Ezekiel Elliot
Zane's Team (123.96) > Chunky Salsa (98.32)
In the middle of last week, the ongoing Zeke legal saga seemed to have finally come to a conclusion with a 6 game suspension beginning in week 7. As Chunky Salsa found out on Sunday, this couldn't have been further from the truth. Zeke put up a ridiclous 42 points, Antonio did his usual amazing things, and Wilson looked great again after a slow start to the season. Chunky Salsa got good games out of Agholor and week long fill in Tyrod, but it wasn't nearly enough to stop him from falling into 3rd.
- High score of the week: Zane's Team
This matchup was my favorite of the week because it was so close to start, and stayed that way all the way to monday night. With :44 left in the 3rd quarter of the Eagles/Redskins game they were separated by only .5 points. In the end, the Cousins/Reed connection produced 2 TDs and propelled Last Shall Be 1st to her second straight win, and into the Emoji Chaos. Rodgers That got amazing games from her starting RBs, and almost nothing from anyone else. Oops. If Cam can go back to not throwing Interceptions all the time there's still a lot of talent on this team.
- Lowest Scoring Winner: Last Shall be first
Travis's Team(113.46) > Perezoso Majestuoso (108.12)
First, I want you guys to know that for the first time all season I just typed Michael's team name without having to look up the spelling. I'm calling that a win.
This is bit of a heartbreaker for Perezoso, as it really looked like he had the game locked up until Matt Ryan and the Falcons forgot how to play offense or kick FGs on Sunday night. Not much of a superbowl rematch afterall. He also certainly would have won if he had played Cooper in his only good game of the year, but who really called that? (39 points?!?) He can take solace in the fact that Aaron Jones looks great at GB, and Fournette should be healthy for late in the season. On Travis's side, Tyreek continues to perform at superhuman levels, and Dak seems to have taken the leap to being an elite QB. He gets the somewhat narrow win to move into 5th.
- Highest scoring loser: Perezoso Majestuoso
Another week, another huge game from Todd Gurley, another easy win for GGT. There isn't a lot to this story. Brate, Cooks, and White continue to put up good games as the team that lost it's #1 overall pick in week one just can't seem to be stopped. Facepalm's team drew another disappointing performance from most of her team including Jordy, who lost his star QB, and McKinnon, who might have lost a starting job in Minnesota as quickly as he gained it. The bright news for her is that she got Wentz off waivers this week and he's turning out to be the QB steal of the draft. Hopefully I didn't just curse him with that prediction.
- Pickup of the week: 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️, Carson Wentz
The Fishers are the final couple to face off against each other this year, so I was definitely interested to see how this one would turn out. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out to be too much of a competition as the large major 🤓🖒🏈's team failed to live up to expectations: none of her RBs or WRs turned in a double digit week. For Colton's team, Alex Smith continues to light that world on fire with his Hunt/Kelce/Tyreek trio of weapons, and Julio Jones managed 99 yards and a TD in his best game of the season, with Landry only 6 yards behind. Welcome to the playoff bracket Colton, you just have to hold on for 6 more weeks.
