Week 11 2018: Game of the Year

Wow. What a game for Monday night Football. More than 100 points scored, 4 lead changes in the 4th quarter, 3 defensive scores, and a shockingly low amount of points for Todd Gurley.

If there is any justice in the world, there will be a rematch of this showdown during the Superbowl. I need to see more Mahomes vs Goff, Hunt v Gurley, and Hill v Cooks. Make it happen, NFL.

I hope you guys managed to catch some of it.

Survivor

Jared Goff put up 400+ yards, threw for 4 TDs, and ran another one in to give Dakstreet his second elimination of the year, killing off Represent. In a cruel twist of fate, these two teams actually played each other this week, and Dakstreet all but eliminated her from playoff contention as well.

Zane's team has a tough assignment to survive this week without Pat Mahomes, but anything is possible.

Survivor Standings :

  • Dakstreet Boys: 122 Points this week⚔️⚔️
  • Eagle Powers: 113 Points this week ⚔️⚔️
  • zane's Team: 107 Points this week⚔️
  • Represent 👩🏈🌻: 91 Points this week ⚔️💀
  • Goofy Gang : RIP 💀
  • Greg's Grand Team: RIP💀
  • Wampus Cats: RIP ⚔️💀
  • Return of the Mack: RIP💀
  • Cool Beans: RIP💀
  • Steven's Team: RIP 💀

Playoff Hunt

2 More games lie ahead, where do our teams lie now?
  • Clinched Playoffs: With wins this week, these teams are now gauranteed a playoff spot, and will jockey for byes.
    • Wampus Cats: Monday night was very kind to Wampus Cats as Tyreek and Hunt pushed him to a 5th straight win vs Eagle Powers (over two seasons). The only thing more fun than winning in fantasy is beating your rival :)
    • Dakstreet Boys: Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Dakstreet is the lowest scoring team currently in playoff position but now has his ticket punched and is a game ahead for a first round bye. This team is composed almost entirely of Panthers and Steelers players, so the way those offenses perform in the next few weeks will determine their fate.
  • Comfortable in the Playoffs
    • Cool Beans: A three game losing streak midseason made things look dire for Cool Beans, but things have been running smoothly again the last 4 weeks. He has the points to pass Dakstreet if he drops a single game, and the return of Matt Brieda bodes very well for this team's playoff chances.
    • zane's Team: A 6-5 record doesn't guarantee zane's team a playoff berth yet, but a sizable points lead over Mack and Goofy Gang make it pretty hard for anyone to knock him out. His biggest risk comes this week with Mahomes taking a late bye week. Julio's return to scoring TDs the last 3 weeks has been a huge gain for this group.
  • On The Edge
    • Return of the Mack: Mack has the same record as zane, but his point total puts him in much more realistic striking distance for Goofy Gang. Mack has tough matchups vs zane and Dakstreet to close out the season, and needs to win both to make sure no one catches them. Michel being fully healthy and contributing the Patriots again would really help close out a winnings season, but AJ Green is still a big question mark.
    • Eagle Powers: Remember what I said about being lucky or good? Despite having the most points in the entire league, Eagle Powers has a very real chance to miss the playoffs due to incredibly bad scheduling. His week 13 matchup vs Dakstreet will likely determine his status as well as the first round bye. He's hoping Gurley and Conner bounce back from a relatively down week for two of the game's best RBs.
  • First Teams In
    • Goofy Gang: Goofy Gang has 2 ways to make playoffs. They either need Eagle Powers to drop a game while they win, or for Return of the Mack to drop one of their next two games while outscoring him by 22+ over two weeks. That seems a lot more realistic than it did a few weeks ago as the Gang just dropped 160. He's going to need Aaron Jones to keep up his hotstreak to make this happen.
    • Steven's Team: Unlike Goofy, Steven does not have the points to catch 4th, 5th, or 6th place. They need a bit more help to squeak into the final spot.
      • They must win 1 or their two games while both Eagle Powers and Goofy Gang lose out, or they need to win both remaining games while each of these teams drop one.
      • In the case that they do win both games, they could also claim a spot if Return of the Mack looses both of his remaining contests.
  • All but Eliminated
    • Represent: This is where things get crazy. Represent's best possible record is 5-8, and there are 3 teams with exactly 5 wins she could potentially pass. That means she needs Goofy Gang, Steven's Team, and Eagle powers to all lose the next two weeks. Amazingly none of them play each other so this is technically possible. Oh yeah, and she needs to score enough points to bridge the 171 point gap between her and Eagle Powers, outscoring him by 85.5 pts/game for the next two weeks. She also needs to catch the other two teams in points, but that's a given if she starts putting up 200 point games.
    • Greg's Grand Team: Now for a less crazy scenario: GGT will not make the playoffs, sorry. With a max record of 4-9, all the 5 win teams are out of reach. Greg has been telling me all year that his team is cursed and I think I believe it. In addition to all the major injuries his squad has had, he also leads in points against, with the next closest team 30+ points behind.

Pickup of the Week

This week's pickup goes to Goofy Gang for not only selecting Christian Kirk, but having the guts to play him this week as he bounced back from his 1 point outing to score 15 vs the Raiders. Ok, considering that it was the Raiders, maybe that decision was a bit more straight forward than I though.

Week 12 2018 : The Final Countdown

Welp, here we are. Just one week left to determine our Survivor Winner and playoff placement. No more power rankings or playoff projections, instead we're going to focus on these final matchups and what they mean going forward. Survivor Eagle Powers put up another high score of the week to notch his 3rd elimination of the season on the backs of Chubb and Boyd. The real story here though is the tiny 1 point gap that separated Dakstreet and newly named NB Power on the chopping block. This ended up coming down to MNF as the Houston defense sacked Mariota 6 times (!!) to edge NB Power into the lead. Who's going to claim the final elimination and secure the first survivor championship? Survivor Standings : Eagle Powers: 141 Points this week ⚔️⚔️⚔️ NB Power: 129 Points this week⚔️⚔️ Dakstreet Boys: 128 Points this week ⚔️⚔️💀 Represent  👩🏈🌻 : RIP  ⚔️💀 Goofy Gang : RIP  💀 Greg's Grand Team: RIP 💀 Wampus Cats: RIP  ⚔️💀 Return of the Mack: RIP ?...
